AFS Brush Clearing
Reclaim areas of overgrown brush, no matter the size or terrain
Our team is extremely skilled in the safe, efficient removal of hazardous brush. Species such as manzanita, coyote brush, toyon, and buck brush can all become dangerous wildfire fuels if ignored for too long. These intermediate "ladder fuels" can act like steps of a ladder for wildfire, allowing small ground fires to climb and become raging crown fires.
AFS handcrews are the perfect choice for a balance of cost, speed, and impressive visual results. The experience of our sawyers will show in the final look of your property. We can reduce dangerous overgrowth while leaving desirable species in place, perfectly manicuring the area to promote healthy growth and reduced fire risk.
The maximum value of this work is achieved when matched with our prescribed burning services. A large amount of material that would be left behind if a chipping process was used, can be easily eliminated through burning. Many chipper operators will choose to leave behind small or rotted debris that is difficult to collect and chip without risking rocks and dirt dulling the expensive chipper blades. With burning, there is no concern of this, and all natural materials are easily collected and staged for burning with the rest of the brush.
As with all of the services we provide, our handcrews are able to access steep, rocky, or remote terrain that is often beyond the reach of machine-dependent clearing techniques. Just the same, we are also able to operate within confined, delicate spaces such as residential yards or near agricultural assets.
