With the unique mix of homes, businesses, and undeveloped natural space found here in northern California, a large responsibility rests on the shoulders of property owners to maintain their lands and prevent wildfire. AFS aims to ease the burden of this responsibility by providing cost efficient, highly effective methods for maintaining the natural landscapes, while also protecting homes and businesses.
AFS was created to fill the need for a small, dynamic, and responsive solution to wildland fire in the rural communities of the foothills. Our team acts as a hub that connects between the needs of private property owners, local and state fire agencies, air quality control agencies, and the region's natural resources.
With a specially trained crew, purpose-built tools and equipment, and a deep understanding of the natural systems at work in the Sierra foothills, AFS assists home and property owners maintain their natural outdoor spaces in ways that promote environmental health and reduce the risk of destructive wildfires.

In order to succeed and flourish despite these challenges, the AFS team uses frequent and ongoing training to maintain peak performance. Our crew members study and practice not only their own specialized roles, but also the roles of their teammates. These overlapping skill sets mean that our team is both dynamic and resilient, even in uncertain and changing conditions.

Crew safety is our first priority. From top of the line personal protective equipment, to daily safety discussions, we make every possible effort to maintain crew safety and health. Our team takes great pride in demonstrating consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment including fire-rated hard hats, impact resistant eye wear, and hearing protection. By limiting our liability, we are able to limit our client’s liability, and ultimately bring safety to complex and hazardous environments.
